How old are kids when they lose their baby teeth?

My daughter turns 5 in 2 weeks and her two bottem front teeth are very lose...they look like they will fall out any min. Is this a good age to lose them? I dont know!! Also how did you explain why the teeth fall out and what happens to them? I told her about the tooth fairy but my husband thinks we should not lie to her. Shes a little freaked out about them and I dont thnik hes helping any.

Between the ages of 4 and 10, tell your husband to jump in the lake, the tooth fairy is a tradition not a lie. It is quite obvious how to explain why one looses their baby teeth. It is because their permanent teeth are growing in. What happens to them and what you tell her is totally up to you. My mom gave mine to me when I had my daughter. I gave my daughter her's when she turned 18
Reply:Right around age 5-6 they start losing teeth. A little girl where I work is 6 and has lost about 6 teeth already.
Reply:My son lost both his front teeth pretty much at the same time at 5 although it was due to juice cup rott... bad decisions on my part. All children lose their teeth at different times.. Can be as early as 5 to 7. Have you taken her to a dentist at all?? They will be able to help your daughter understand whats happening.
Reply:Kids usually start to lose their teeth around 5 or 6. The permanent tooth coming in just pushes the baby one out, even if you thought it was too soon you could really do nothing about the situation. There is no stopping mother nature. You should do the tooth fairy thing even though your husband does not agree, at some point kids find out all of these things are not real but all kids like a little extra money to spend on themselves and it may make her want to get her teeth out faster which will make it easier on everyone since kids are usually scared it will hurt.

Reply:Yes they start loosing teeth about age 5 and they are done loosing their baby teeth about age 9 or 10.
Reply:The earliest is usually 5. My daughter lost her first tooth at 6 and my son will be 7 in October and he hasnt lost one yet.
Reply:I lost my first tooth when I was in kindergarten. (I was 6.) I lost ten teeth in my kindergarten year.
Reply:My daughter lost her two bottom teeth when she was 4 1/2. She's almost 6 now and has lost about 6 teeth. My oldest son lost his first tooth the day after he turned 5. They both got their teeth early and lost them early. As far as what we told them, we said that the baby teeth fall out so your grown-up teeth can move in. We do have the tooth fairy come but my kids always write her a note saying that they would really like to keep their teeth, please. They both couldn't seem to let them go. So, the next morning we see what the tooth fairy brought, and then we put their teeth in a container in my dresser. This works for us!
Reply:I only have an 18 month old, and she hasn't started losing teeth yet, however, I do with kindergarten kids sometimes, as a substitute teacher, and 5 is very normal for losing teeth. I often have little kids showing me their lose teeth or where they lost a tooth. The first couple might be kind of scary, but if you are doing the tooth fairy thing, once she loses the first one and gets a couple quarters or whatever for it, she won't mind losing teeth.
Reply:My daughter just lost her first tooth 5 minutes ago and I decided to look it up and here I am. She is 4 years and 2 months. Lower middle incisor. The other lower incisor is also loose.
Reply:My son, who is 6 lost one bottom tooth last year, and soon he will be turning 7, and his front tooth is loose. I have heard that the longer they keep their baby teeth, the stronger their adult teeth will be.(I don't know if that's true or not.) My sister's twins lost their teeth around 4,and 5, and have a lot of visits to the dentist for problems. After my son lost his first tooth, he tried to pull another one out, so the toothfairy would come again!!!
