My mothers teeth have lost their shine and whiteness. What should she do?
I'm sorry to hear about your mothers illness. Those medical conditions and medications take a toll on ones teeth. The medication alone probably gave her a "dry mouth" which is notorious for causing rampant decay in the mouth. The saliva naturally washes the plaque and bacteria from the teeth and mouth throughout the day. Having a abnormally dry environment somewhere that is and requires wet is understandable that the teeth look lack luster or dull, right. Talk with her dentist and see what he suggest or has to offer. There are several products on the market, mints, paste and mouthwash all that reduce the effects of dry mouth by adding moisture. Some say they work, some say they don't. The main thing is to get moisture back into the mouth, the shine and whiteness are signs that the teeth are dehydrated from the dry mouth. It's a shame that this happened to her, and it's not her fault about the decay. This may sound absurd after what I just said, but has she tried the sugarless candy to suck on, some say it adds moisture by stimulating the salivary glands to function in the mouth. Just another thing to try, no sugar though. Don't want to add more decay to the problem. Talk to the dentist and keep up with the check ups and don't neglect the home care, if anything else brush and floss along with swishing water in the mouth, more often than you normally would. Good luck, and I'm sorry I don't have an instant cure for your problem. Just know that she's not alone with this condition and there are new things coming out to try everyday.
Reply:consult a nice dentist or brush teeth with salt, this will brighten her teeth.
Reply:brush properly with a brushand if this d workthen use lal dant manjan
Reply:mix some 3% hydrogen peroxide with some baking soda to form a paste then apply the paste to the teeth making sure not to get any on the gums and leave it on for 20 minutes than rinse. If everyone was to follow the instructions I have provided for you than dentists couldn't rip you off charging $600 to $700 for a teeth whitening appointment. This formulation which is the same as dentists use in their practice was given to me by an oral surgeon and works very well.
Reply:she could go for the dentist for a polish and whitening....or even veners...
