Why are her adult teeth so loose? Does it mean she'll lose them too?

A lot of my family has false teeth or no teeth, and a lot lost all their teeth really young. My cousin's 13 year old daughter was complaining about some loose teeth when I was over recently, so her mom asked to see what she was talking about. All of her front teeth are really wobbly. She said she noticed they were a little loose a while ago, and she can't help messing around with them wiggling them and wobbling them because they move quite a bit. Some do move about and eighth of an inch in all directions without much effort. She can even wiggle them just with her tongue. Why are her teeth so loose? Does it mean she'll lose all of her teeth like my cousin and I did? They don't have much money so anything real expensive probly won't be happening.

Most likely not at this age, unless your family has a gum or teeth disease. Are you sure they aren't her baby teeth trying to fall out?
Reply:She needs to see a dentist immediately. In the meantime she should strengthen her gums by flossing every day and brushing her teeth and gums with a soft toothbrush. Rinsing wtih Listerine mouthwash will also help. I hope it's not too late.
Reply:she needs to stop messing with them and brush and take care of them really well. When I was a teen my teeth were loose, I have short roots, my teeth arent loose anymore, I am 30, but because I have short roots I am prone to cavities, root canals, and now have 3 implanted teeth, your cousin needs to get insurance as soon as possible so if she needs dental work she wont have to wait, then maybe you can do research on this situation that your whole family has so the insurance can cover her treatment, Implants are usually never covered by insurance, but maybe with these special circumstances her future teeth can be covered, she should atleast go to the dentist now to see if they can prevent any losing of the teeth she already has. I would hold off on the flossing, and the first person who answered this did not read your question so dont listen to that fool.
Reply:Gingivitis a gum disease that the shrinking gums let go of the teeth , Be for that stage there would have been bleeding when she brushed her teeth . Tell her to keep rinsing her moth with salt water get to a dentist fast, he might be able to save them but don't hold your breath .
Reply:I don't know why her teeth are so loose but tell her to quit fiddling with them. The more she does that the looser they'll get and then they will fall out or all have to be pulled out. I had gum disease and mine got loose. I know it's hard not to mess with them cuz I did that too, but if she don't do something quick sounds like she'll be toothless real soon. She could lose all her teeth anyway cuz it sounds like she waited too long to get checked if they're that loose. I lost all mine and I'm 16.
Reply:Sounds like she should just yank them all out if they're that loose. Then she'll fit right in with the rest of the family with no teeth. I don't know what made her teeth loose, if it's gum disease or whatever but mine got that way when I was around her age and I ended up having all mine pulled out. Wasn't anything else they could do that was like close to an affordable price. Havin teeth that are loose like that is a pain, but I felt a lot better after mine were all out.
Reply:I dont know why her teeth are so loose. Could be some kind of gum disease or could be just from her messing with them to see how loose they are all the time. If she keeps doin that they will definitely fall out. I don't know anyway to fix teeth that are that loose so she'll probly lose them all or have to have them pulled before long. She should probly get a dentist to take a look but I think it's probly too late to do any good.
Reply:Sounds like she'll be toothless too very soon. By the sounds of it she'll have a lot of company tho. Don't worry, when all of her teeth come out she'll match the rest of you guys. I don't know why they got so loose. Could be a couple of things, and I don't think there's any way to fix it now. Probly best in the long run to just get them all pulled out while she still has enough jawbone to be able to wear false teeth. I had all of my teeth out when I was almost 15. That was over 10 years ago and I'm still toothless. Hey, your family and mine aren't related are they?
Reply:it could be a perio problem they should try to find a dental school or free clinic to get her work done because she is too young to loose her teeth
Reply:She needs to go see your dentist. It might be something that runs in the family, but it looked at definately.

Reply:Take her to the dentist fast. If you don't get an appointment now it's probably going to be too late. But if it ends up she does lose them she'll fit right in with the family. But my only advice is to tell her to quit messing with them. Scold her if you have to. Then bring her to the dentist as soon as possible.
