How do i save my teeth?

I unintentionally grind my teeth when I am sleeping and the top teeth are almost down to nothing. What can i do ? Can i fill back with a mould made out of filling or do i need to wear false teeth. Please i need help i am only 23 i don't want to lose my teeth

How do i save my teeth?
i would first try an "occlusal guard" from the drugstore, which is rather cheap and can yield good results.

if that doesn't help, see a dentist who will make a custom occlusal guard- much more expensive.
Reply:LoL! Ok my sister does the same thing. at wal mart or any other drug store they sell these things that you set on your teeth hen you sleep. They are for peopl who grind heir teeth. But all you have to do it put it there at night and take it out in the morning!

Reply:20% of adults grind their teeth at night. It can be caused by a number of things from stress to a bad bite. First thing you need to do is make an appointment with your dentist, who will make a custom mouthpiece for you to wear at night. This will prevent further damage to your teeth and may reduce your tendency to grind.
Reply:buy a mouth gard or have your dentist make one.. my son grinds really bad too.. they told me they cant do anything for him until he gets all his adult teeth in.. (he's 7 its gonna be awhile grrrr)
Reply:they sell plastic bite protectors that you can wear at night. check it out online or at a pharmacy

Rotting teeth?

help !!! ive jus noticed dat ma teeth are rottin !! can u plz plz let me know how 2 stop this frm happening ! i dnt wna lose ma teeth !! heelllllpppp !!!!

Rotting teeth?
Unfortunately, regular cleanings and exams are to "prevent" this from happening. I am assuming you have neglected your teeth for quite some time. You will have to go see a dentist and let him work up a treatment plan on you. It may be costly so I would highly recommend getting dental insurance if you do not have it. Just brushing them is not going to fix the problem. Too late for that.
Reply:brush them and also go see a dentist
Reply:Brush and floss after every meal, use colgate complete protection toothpaste.
Reply:you have to see a dentist, that's the only way to fix the damage you have caused. do you know what a toothbrush and toothpaste is?
Reply:It will continue to decay until the problem is addressed by a dentist.
Reply:Gargle with salt water/baking soda water. It will relieve any pain temporarily and get the acidity out of your mouth. Also, you might want to start brushing and flossing your teeth every day. Floss once at night and brush twice, once in the morning and once right before you go to bed.
Reply:have you ever thought of going to the dentist. sounds like you never heard of a dentist. they work on teeth. one other thing, invest in a dictionary to help your spelling.

Growing teeth?

my best friend Alice (didnt have a yahoo! account, so i asked for her) lost two teeth about a week apart. now you see little white dots on her gums. we were wondering when her teeth were going to come in?

she says her gums dont hurt. and we also wanted to know if they would come back by August 27th?

thanks (=

Growing teeth?
Just give it time, tell your friend that the two white dots are most likely the teeth pushing through the gums. ( The gums become white as they are being stretched when the new teeth are coming in.) Most likely they will not come all the way out by the 27th, sorry.
Reply:how old is she . they would probably come in a week

Do cat's loose their teeth?

Do kittens teeth like babies?? My puppy lost his teeth and got adult teeth. Do cat's loose their teeth also??

Do cat's loose their teeth?
Yes, they lose baby or milk teeth which are replaced by adult ones.
Reply:yes all animals lose teeth unless they don't have teeth
Reply:Cats normally lose their teeth as kittens between the age of 5-7 months. at that point their permanent adult teeth come in.
Reply:Yes. You usually never see these, because they get swallowed with their food when they begin to eat solid food, just like with puppies. But sometimes you will see one.
Reply:yes my little kitten lost most of her teeth, and after she got her adult teeth.
Reply:Yes they shed their first teeth as they grow. Just as well as those ones are razor sharp and hurt!
Reply:Yes, kittens lose their baby teeth too.
Reply:Kittens' adult teeth come in before they lose their baby teeth, so when your cat is around 5-7 months old, it'll look like he/she's got a double set of incisors.
Reply:Yes all dogs and cats do. Just like humens lose thier baby theeth.
Reply:yes
Reply:no once they have their permanent teeth it WILL NOT GROW BACK

Can teeth grow back?

I was recently involved in a terrible boating accident. I lost 17 teeth and now my smile looks like jagged rocks at the bottom of a cliff. Is there a way to get my teeth to grow back in my face?

Can teeth grow back?
no but you can get implants http://www.yourdentistryguide.com/implan...
Reply:unfortunately no
Reply:Mammals (like humans) generally only get 2 set of teeth. Baby teeth (which are small) and adult teeth. If adult teeth are knocked out or damaged some other way, they don't grow back. However, you can go to the dentist and get fake teeth made (they look pretty real). It's expensive, but your insurance might pay for some of it (if you have insurance).

Sorry to hear about your boating accident. Hope everything else is okay.
Reply:No human teeth dont regrow after the second teeth come through in childhood.

Your nest bet if you can afford them or if you're due compensation would be screw in teeth which screw individually into the gums and look and are cared for just like real teeth. But they are very expensive.
Reply:No, but you can get some other options such as having implants. If your teeth are jagged you can get veneers. If you are on a very low budget you can get dentures. All of the above will be very costly.

What teeth do you lose?

do you lose your very back teeth?[i don't remember what they are called]

What teeth do you lose?
The very back teeth are either permanent 6 year molars, which come in at 6 years old (you will nto lose these). Then at 12 years old you get 12 year old molars ( you will never lose these either). You have 2 baby molars in front of your 6 year old molars that you lose when you premolars begin to come in.
Reply:Lose when? After your permanent teeth come in you should not lose your teeth unless you have some very damaged teeth. Sometimes they take out the wisdom teeth that are in the very back, but you don't "lose" them. If they take your wisdom teeth out, they do not grow back.
Reply:You lose a total of 20 baby teeth.

Does the Tooth Fairy keep your kids' teeth for the future, and if so, how? (adults only!)?

My son is about to lose a tooth or two and I'm wondering if you have kept your kids' teeth, and if so, how?

I'd like creative ideas on keeping them in the order they appear in the mouth with the dates they came out written somewhere.

PS: The "adults only" warning was just so you don't let kids read this if they happen to be with you. It's not THAT kind of "adults only"!!

Does the Tooth Fairy keep your kids' teeth for the future, and if so, how? (adults only!)?
For every tooth my children have lost they write a letter to the tooth fairy with the date on it and how it came out, whether they pulled it our the tetherball knocked it out (yes that did happen). They put the tooth in an envelope with the letter and the "toothfairy" takes it. I keep them in my sock drawer with the letter. I think it is a great idea to save your childrens teeth. My mother saved mine and it was such a neat experience to show my children that the toothfairy returned my teeth to me to show my children. Good luck and have fun!! :o)
Reply:thank god she keepin the broken one.what happen when she pull itself

Reply:We didn't keep any of ours -- I just didn't see any point to it. I mean, what are you going to do with them? It's not like to can set up a little shrine and keep them on display or anything, so they're just going to end up in the junk drawer or closet with the rest of the stuff you don't know what to do with...

I just didn't find any sentimental value or interest in them at all -- sorry.
Reply:How about if the tooth fairy were to purchase a small jewelry box that is sectioned off into little squares. The kind that have silk (or other fabric) liners would be a nice touch. She could make labels and put them above or in each square. Eventually she could cover all the squares with clear plastic, to preserve the teeth.
Reply:I keep my kids teeth each in old film canisters. I document which tooth was lost and when w/ a digital camera pic of their actual missing tooth in their mouth in hopes to scrapbook them when ALL teeth are lost.
Reply:well at my sons dentist office they gave him a tooth necklace to keep it in. my son is 6 and hasn't lost any yet, just use a small box, like a ring box.
Reply:When our son looses a tooth at home we tell him to take it to school with him and the school nurse gives him a treasure box, then we put the box under the bed. I take the tooth and I put money in the treasure box. Each tooth has their on treasure box. My son is special needs and one day he realized his teeth were leaving but not coming back so this last tooth he lost the tooth fairy returned all of his previous teeth with an apology not saying that she did not know they ment so much to him and she could live without out them. Now he feels bad that he robbed the toothfairy of her teeth so I told him the next time he looses on he can stick them all under his pillow. lol After that I don't know what I will say and do. lol
Reply:no. i am a child and know there is no such hing as the tooth fairy
Reply:My 5 yr old lost 2 of his bottom middle teeth which were his first baby teeth. The first one he placed in a glass of water and the tooth fairy gave him money we lost that tooth. So my son with his second tooth put it in a toy that had a gap for the tooth an "Over the hedge" toy. So now his tooth is safe and sound and a creative way to store his tooth. Baby diaries have the order the teeth appear and you insert the dates

How many teeth do you lose?

This website shows primary dentition and the ages the baby teeth come in. Click on the tab for Permanent Dentition on the yellow panel on the left of the page to see the ages the adult teeth generally erupt. All primary teeth are generally replaced by adult teeth (except in some cases where the patient is congenitally missing some teeth in which case heroic measures are taken to save the baby teeth).

Obviously the ages indicated in the sample are just a rough guide and can vary considerably in individuals.

We have 20 primary teeth and 32 adult teeth (including 4 wisdom teeth that don't erupt until late teens). If your son has lost all his baby teeth and got all his adult teeth he will have 28 in total right now.
Reply:you should have 26 teeth but you probably don't have your wisdom teeth yet..these can hurt when they come in..word to the wise..have them taken care of by your dentist..
Reply:You lose your first set of teeth. All of them. But they all are replaced by a second set.
Reply:i think by the time we get old we lose them all. but you can borrow some teeth or if you have some money you can buy some instead of nanas.
Reply:hi there. You should be losing a lot of teeth around this age because usually by the time you are twelve you should have all your permanent (big Teeth) teeth. You should have 14 teeth on top, 7 on each side and 14 on the bottom ,7 on each side by the time your twelve....but sometimes people loose their teeth sooner and some are delayed....if too delayed its a good idea to get xrays to make sure the permanent teeth are developed. Widom teeth usually start to bother people in their late teens and there are usually 4 of them. Therefore by the time you are twelve you should have 28 teeth...and maybe by the time your in your late teens you would have 32 if you got all your wisdom teeth.
Reply:Most people (normal) have 20 baby teeth and lose them all, you must have some of your 6 yr molars in or be missing some bay teeth and have all four 6 yr molars

Teeth uneven?

Since 9 I have my upper teeth, the four incisors uneven to each other since when I lost my tooth I kept licking at it and it grew in uneven place.

Sadly my left two incisors are like triangly out like this /\ facing out. Wondering if i should get braces or other solutions

You will prolly need braces. Not many other options.

(They reckon this happens to us because of evolution. Our jaws have evolved smaller but we still have the same number of teeth.)

Is it normal for teeth to grow in unusual places?

My little sister has a tooth growing just below her front teeth, on the lower half of her jaw. They're growing behind her front teeth on her lower jaw, in other words.

So basically, it's in a really weird place. She's 6 years old, and still has not lost any teeth.

Is it normal for teeth to grow in unusual places?
SHE IS THE NEW MESSIAH!!
Reply:Yes its normal. She might need braces, weird place is an armpit btw :p

i have a few friends that looked like jaws reeincarnated... nothing to worry about for now, dentist will take care of it in time :)
Reply:if it is not a 'usual' place then obviously it isn't normal.

sorry i copied the messiah person
Reply:no big deal i've see kids with two rows of teeth before, tell your mom to get her to the dentist, why are you worrying about it?
Reply:she'll probably lose it, but if not, the dentist will pull it when she gets older. my friend had the same thing. she had it pulled, got braces, and now has nice teeth.
Reply:i think she has "crowdy teeth"%26lt;------ i 4get what itz really called but itz when ur teeth are crowded and yes she will need braces....so do i but itz becasue my 2 front teeth are facing in (i thought u guyz should know..idky :)
Reply:Just look at the British peoples teeth- they are over the place! We are spoiled here in the USA by all the kids who have had theirs aligned.

An 'unusual place' is for a tooth to naturally grow - in the foot! And yes, it has happened.

Can it be that in humans teeth growing the third time?

Recently I have lost four teeth shortly after a visit to the dentist. They just broke apart and also one that had a gold crown. Now I have difficulties with chewing. I don't want a bridge or an implant and looking for an alternative.

Reflecting about it I came to the conclusion, that there must be another way and that it is possible that the missing teeth can grow anew.

I have heard that in China there is a tribe where they know how to grow third teeth. Anybody knows something more about it?

Don't tell me that this is not possible.

I was also told that there is no cure for Fibromyalgia, but I healed myself. I was told that the only way to repair an inguinal hernia is surgery, but I healed myself without surgery. So please only answer, if you have some positive information or a suggestion what I can try that my teeth grow new. (I'm over seventy and the remaining teeth are in good conditions. I am familiar with meditation and EFT and I will try with it, but will wait for answers.

Can it be that in humans teeth growing the third time?
What I know about it is that when we are born the cranial sutures are loose and there are spaces in the skull called fontanels, on the other end of the spinal column the sacrum is not fused with the hipbones. Because of this we might realize we are growing, the bones have not yet formed into their final position, and also because of this there is the maximum amount of energy freely moving along the Central nervous system (CNS). So around the age of 5, the cranial bones fuse (not really fused but they get tight), and from Psychology we also know the main elements of personality are formed. After the head takes shape in it's bony structure, then the body grows. The first set of teeth grow and form around the same time as the cranial bones set. the second set of teeth grow when the body is elongating, along with this comes puberty and formation of the hip girdle. When one stops growing then the hips are basically fused to the sacrum, one is an adult, the last wisdom teeth appear. Now one might see that the energy of growing has stopped, this energy is now going into building up the personality. I think that new teeth don't grow because there is simply not enough energy left over to do it, mostly because it's mainly being used to keep the structure of personality in place. So you know this, having healed from Fibromyaligia and hernia, that the healing resulted as a whole system change which was due to a reduction in the influence of personality.

I think that what you want to heal now is more difficult because growing stops after the cranial bones fuse and after the sacrum fuses. It's like the human body is a lightening rod, when one stands upright, it's the unique feature of being human and why upright is such an advantage: one can channel energy just like a lightening rod. But the problem is to get growing to happen in a system which is basically fused on both ends of the channel, the channel being the spinal column. It is my theory that if the bones can unfuse on the two ends then a great amount of energy is released from the structure of personality which is being held in place physically by the shape of the skull bones.

Then I think what you want is possible, but I do believe it takes a lot of free energy to get things to grow again, especially things like bones and cartiledge. Bones are the densest and deepest tissue in the human body and thus also transfer and carry the most amount of energy. To get this amount of energy as is the case in growing bodies before the aspects of personality are set, then one must go in reverse -- to become like a baby again. So it's the same thing here, healing takes place when elements of personality are reduced.

Another thing I think about with this, is that while we might want a certain thing: like new teeth, this might not be what your innate essence considers to be the most important aspect of your body to be healed. I think this is also why one has to build up the personality, put energy into it, even before one can be healed. It's like each thing has to take place step by step, and there is no way that we personally can figure out what that is. It might be that if you find a way to increase your energy, then that free energy is used in a more essential way by your body to increase your overall energy. It kind of goes back to the principles of electricity: electricity seeks the path of least resistance. But in the end it doesn't matter, one should try to grow new teeth or heal something alternatively, even if one doesn't get the result one wants the way one thinks one will get it, in the end the journey, the doing of it will heal you in the way that is most critical. I know this because I tried to heal my frozen shoulder, as this was giving me constant pain. i spend so many hours on trying to get that knot out of the trapezious muscle. I've been working with this for 22 months straight and now finally the knot comes out. Turned out this problem has to do with a structural defect in the skull and it was only by correcting that, that this problem starts to resolve. If there is a change in the shape of the skull bony structure, then later on this gets reflected and changed in the body. I found out in a practical way that having enough free energy to make a skull change took a tremendous amount of energy and these kinds of changes only started to happen very late in the healing I'm undergoing. This is because to change bone it needs a huge amount of energy such as is present in the growing force happening in babies.

But I'm not totally sure that one can spot focus and get enough energy. practical advise would be to try putting a cork in one's mouth - to hold one's mouth open and sit with this each day for a time to relax the masseter and other jaw muscles. In essence releasing tension here and increasing energy flow. You could also try doing acupressure to the acupoints on the skull. The EFT chin and nose are good, but they mostly work on the front teeth, look at the acupunture charts and do all the head points. But even this is not enough because one will find out that each tooth is associated with an energy flow in the lower body, and so there is often referred pain. A hip might hurt do to a problem in a molar, etc. so the whole body needs to be treated. Teeth decay in their certain unique areas because that path of energy flow has become restricted. So to regrow teeth one must most likely open all the parts of the body.

Reply:It's rare, but it happens. It's probably genetic, which would explain why this happens to an entire tribe.
Reply:You obviously are adverse to listening to reason ,but as a Dentist I can tell you definitively the number of teeth you develop is determined in the embryo, and for humans it is a set of deciduous which you lose as they are replaced by a permanent set. And no amount of wishing otherwise will change that!
Reply:I'M SORRY BUT, WE HUMANS ONLY HAVE 2 SETS OF TEETH IN LIFE. THE PRIMARY AND THE SECONDARY SET. THERE NEVER IS A THIRD SET. I KNOW THIS THIRD SET IS NOT BIOLOGICALLY POSSIBLE IN HUMANS.

FIBROMALGIA IS NOT LIKE MISSING TEETH. YOU CHANGED SOMETHING TO MAKE THE PAIN SYNDROME VANISH. CONGRATULATIONS. NOW, IF YOU WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU DID OTHERS MAY BENEFIT FROM YOUR SUCCESS.
Reply:Scientists have been working for years trying to grow new things, and it has not been controlled or what we would call "successful" yet. It is a beautiful idea in theory, just not that easy in reality.

As mentioned, the reason a tribe can grow new teeth is most likely genetics, a defect of sorts, that is continually passed on. Unfortunately it is not so easy to just recreate someone's genes.

As for replacing that tooth, an implant is the closest thing to what God gave us originally. They feel and act just like a real tooth...and what is better is that they cannot get cavities or decay! Even if we could grow teeth, they take about 7-10 years to completely grow and mature. You could have in implant placed and functioning in 3-6 months.

I recommend, as a professional, to go with what we know works.
Reply:I am not sure how to make yourself grow a third tooth. But you could always go for a dental implant. Basically they place an abutment into your bone and then place a type of screw and then a crown on the screw. I'm sure some people have 3 sets of teeth it is probably very rare but Im sure possible. One thing you could check is your xrays. I've never come across a patient with 3 sets of teeth but I've seen things like extra molars and also people who are born without a permenant tooth. Best of luck to you and I would love to hear it if you do in fact find the answer you are looking for.
Reply:Have you any heard about Toronto blessing? If itÅ› possible that,itÅ› possible to have the third teeth. But how to do it?(And what about this:http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_it_true_tha... ?)

I have a third pair of teeth in some places. What causes this?

My eye teeth (vampire-k9-fangs) All lost baby teeth and have grown adult teeth. Then they came out again and I have a VERY long third pair. I am 15 and female. What causes this? It kinda hurts cause they're wide and long hence pushing my other teeth. Then on my left side I have another third tooth comming about my second. It's not noticable and I'm going to the dentist next month to check it out. Does anyone know what's causing this and/or what will possibly happen when I go to the dentist. Surgery? Filing them? Braces?

Can your wisdom teeth grow back?

I had my wisdom teeth removed like more than 5 years ago and like two mornings ago i woke up and in the back of my mouth where they took my wisdom teeth my gum has split apart. It looks like i lost a tooth and it feels like i have been punched in the face. i just wonder if something isnt trying to come through, so like i said can wisdom teeth grow back?

Can your wisdom teeth grow back?
absolutely not. It's possible your dentist was a complete retard, and didn't properly remove the roots, and now it's infected, but it seems like it would get infected a lot faster then 5 years. You probably just have some sort of gum infection
Reply:It is possible but its not called a wisdom tooth, its call a permamolar a very very rare tooth that grows in behind yor wisdom teeth i know cause i got 1 Report It

Reply:yeah, but if it's growing out of the same place the 3rd molar came out of it's not a permamolar. Report It

Reply:I do know that sometimes after having them removed, little shards of the tooth are left in the gum, and it's only time before they have to work their way out. It's quite common, and it hurts pretty badly. Your best bet is going to the dentist, and for the pain, use a bit of orajel.
Reply:mine didn't...
Reply:go get evaluated.. rarely people have more than one set of wisdom teeth but your doc could have told you that before your surgery... because the are usally visible in the xrays. most likey an infection... or peices migrating out.
Reply:Absolutely not. When there pulled their gone for good. However, in your case part of a root may have been broken off and left behind during the time of your first extraction. See your dentist and get it removed.

Why haven't my sons teeth fallen out, yet?

Hi, My son is 8 1/2 years old he'll be 9 in December. Any ways he has only lost three teeth, on the bottom. His top teeth are still there, only he must grind his teeth while he sleeps or something cause his top front two teeth are sooo wore down they are starting to look like nubs. I am concerned that with them so short that they will never loosen and if they do how am I gonna getthem out they are so short I can barely grab one. Over all his teeth are in good shape never any cavities he brushes and flosses all the time I am kind of a freak about that with my kids

Why haven't my sons teeth fallen out, yet?
Why don't you call your dentist's nurse? She should be able to ease your mind. Of course, she'll probably suggest you bring him in to see the dentist. It's not a bad idea if it's been over 6 months anyway. Good luck, and I think it's great that you're so concerned about your kids' teeth.
Reply:This problem could happen from the bone structure, which is not allowing his teeth to puncture the gums. I recommend you to go see the dentist ASAP, and he might, just might, have to make small inscisions in the gums, for the teeth to fall out. Another thing is, it's important to have at least half the teeth out, or else the permanent teeth will come is crooked, and he might be needing orthodontic treatment.

Wisom teeth?

i'm 22 and only have 28 teeth. i've never lost any teeth. do i only have 28 because my wisdom teeth havent came in? and will i get them?

Wisom teeth?
I got mines at 25. They come in your twenties. But I had some friends come in at 29 and 30. A dentist can do an xray and see if it's coming in soon. But some ppl never get it but I haven't know anyone like that. Good luck!
Reply:You probably will get those later, one thing about wisdom teeth, they do smart when they come in.
Reply:some people don't ever get wisdom teeth.
Reply:You will get your wisdom teeth eventually. Some people get them young and others when they are older. You may want to get them pulled out before they start pushing the other teeth around if you don't have the room.
Reply:Some people have more teeth than others, some have less, yes this is true. Somtimes wisdom teeth don't come in until you turn 40 or over.
Reply:I'm 34 and never got my third molars or my wisdom teeth. See if your parents have them. These things are hereditary. If anything, next time you go to the dentist and get x-rays he can tell you what has or hasn't grown in.

Dog loosing teeth!?

we have a 5 month old shar pei, hound, rot, and some other kind.. basically.. we have a 5 month old mut.. and the other day after cleaning up the trash she got into it.. i found one of her teeth... and just now i was coming to sit on the couch.. and i saw something that looked like popcorn in one of the cushion cracks.. so i thought, i'll just vacuum it later.. but then i was like.. we havent ate popcorn in forever.. and i went to go look at it.. and its another tooth!! so she's lost two teeth in a week.

do dogs loose teeth like humans do? should i be concerned ??

Dog loosing teeth!?
Pups like humans do loose their baby teeth, it is not uncommon for them to swallow them.
Reply:Yes, they do. Puppies start losing their baby teeth at 3 months and finish between 7 - 8 months. So, right now, give your puppy lots of things to chew on because her gums are really sore. One thing my dogs always liked was if you take an old face cloth, wet it, freeze it, then give it to them - very soothing on sore gums.
Reply:Of course they do! Dogs loose their baby teeth just like us. You should only be concerned if your dog starts loosing teeth in later life as this is a sign of serious serious dental disease!

Reply:Puppies lose their puppy teeth and they get their adult teeth in soon after. It is normal that the puppy is losing teeth.
Reply:Dogs loose teeth just like humans its completey normal.

Shes loosing her teeth because she ready to get her big teeth.
Reply:That is completely normal. Dogs loose their teeth just like we do and then grow adult teeth. You have bsolutely nothing to worri about. My mom would find dog teeth lying on the floor when my dog was a puppy. lol! :)
Reply:this is so normal my 5 month old mut only has one more tooth to loose you are lucky you found them I wanted to keep one of my puppy's teeth but I haven't found any I brush his teeth daily so I have seen them when they get loose! nothing to worry about the big teeth come in so fast alot of people don't even know that their puppy's loose teeth!!
Reply:no you should not be concerned all dogs loose teeth like humans. if it was older then 4 or so then that would be odd but before or a little after turning 1 they will lose some of their teeth. i have a yorkie who lost his teeth and we ended up finding all of them some you will find others you wont. hope this helps. god bless you hope you get to read this.
Reply:By now you should have been to a vet and they will tell you that it is part of teething and you will find teeth all over sometimes you will see blood as well ....notice if your pup is scraping his or her face along the ground either outside or inside that is a sign...giving them a hard bone is great....nothing to be concerned with
Reply:My dog is a poodle and he is loosing teeth and he is ALSO 5 months old. Its totally normal. Dont worry. If your so worried, just make a call to your local vet. They are usually free and they can tell you ANYTHING with a lot of detail and can answer ALL your questions.

Teeth may be LOOSE but if so, you might LOSE them, not LOOSE them.

Consequently, if teeth are falling out you might be LOSING them, not LOOSING them.

If your shoelaces aren't tight, they might be LOOSE.

I am always amazed at the number of people who incorrectly spell LOSE and LOSING!

Will my dog's teeth grow back?

My dogs are already quite old (8 and 6 yrs +) so I am wondering does their teeth still change. I usually brushes their their teeth once a week. Recently, I notice that 3 of my dogs lost their teeth.

It has been about a week, and I have see no sign of new teeth growing. I am worried that whether is it caused by some illnesses. Or is it normal that they still change their teeth at their age??

Thanks! :)

Will my dog's teeth grow back?
well...its part of life...when you get old you lose your teeth...however....if in the dogs mouth, there are like 3 or 4 teeth missing in the same area...I would take them to the vet, my old dog just recently had to be put down because of cancer in her jaw. she was 11 she was so healthy and the cancer came at the beginning of last october she had to be put to sleep at the very beginning of november. do your dogs have horrible bad breath all of a sudden?? My dogs cancer started as a bad tooth that had to be removed and then found the cancer. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS WHAT YOUR DOGS HAVE. THERE IS NO WAY TO BE ABLE TO TELL YOU SO DONT FREAK OUT.....but it coulnt hurt to get it checked out. I was devistated when I found out about my dogs cancer...but for the teeth growing back.....they will never greow back so you may need to invest in some wet food because if their teeth are getting old, then the dry kibble may be too much for them you can also try to mix in alittle warm water in the dry kibble to soften it up alittle bit hope this helps some
Reply:Once they get their adult teeth at about six months of age, they don't get any more teeth. Doggie teeth are like people teeth. Once they fall out, they don't grow back.

You might want to take them to the vet. They might be ill, or they might have some oral issues going on. Kudos to you for brushing your dog's teeth. A lot of pet owners don't do that, but it's a really good thing to do.
Reply:No, if they've lost their adult teeth they won't grow back. Good that you are brushing their teeth. But are you not feeding them healthy food. Or are they chewing extremely hard things. Some dogs like to chew on or fetch rocks. Your dogs aren't old enough to just lose teeth without a reason.
Reply:If your dog has yet to have a dental prophaliaxis done on his teeth he could be having some issues with rotting teeth or gum disease. Just like humans if a dog has never has his teeth brushed or maintained they can rot out. The problem with this is that dogs actually get diseases from their teeth. That is why it is so important to get your dog's teeth cleaned regularly. The procedure can be expensive in the higher 200.00 ranges plus the cost of any extractions but once you have it done you can start the maintaining process. Try C.E.T chews they actually contain enzymatic coating that helps the dog's teeth.
Reply:Just like people, dogs have baby teeth and adult teeth. If they lose adult teeth, no, they aren't going to grow back. They are not sharks.
Reply:Hi Dominicandy

Many tooth problems stem from soft foods in the diet that leave food debris in gum pockets at the base of the teeth. That food debris can lead to infections. Infections cause the gums to soften and recede as well as cause bad breath. Either sign should trigger a trip to the veterinarian. This infection can lead to loss of teeth if left unchecked and untreated.

Tartar buildup on the dog’s teeth can also lead to loss of teeth and an increased risk of gum disease. Tartar builds up on teeth in hard water areas because it is a precipitate of calcium salts.

There is quite a lot that pet owners can do to prevent or lessen the onset of gum decay. Feed kibbled foods and hard biscuits to help scrub the teeth. Don’t give soft foods, or keep them to a minimum because these can leave debris behind. Provide hard rubber toys or nylon toys for chewing. Brush your dog’s teeth twice a week with baking soda toothpaste or toothpaste formulated for dog teeth. Do not use toothpaste formulated for people.

It is normal for older dogs to loose teeth. and I would not panick over it. you are doing a great job, and if you are not seeing any signs that your dogs are not in ill health. then I would not be concerned. remember to count 7people years per dog years to estimate what types of problems your dog should be having. just as us people fall apart with age so do dogs.
Reply:this is natural from the sounds of it they are just old this will not cause any harm as long as you keep taking care of there mouth i had an older dog that lost all of her teeth but three basically dont worry just keep there mouths cleaned out
Reply:I don't think they'll grow back but if you have any questions you should talk to your vet
Reply:in exactly age of your dog
Reply:Lots of good information in the answers already recorded. Just a couple extra thoughts. At their age, the dogs should be seeing a vet at least once a year for a check from head to toe, including their teeth and gums. Also, I have just learned there is a new vaccine available to help prevent gum disease which can result in tooth loss and other problems, including heart prob's due to bacteria in the bloodstream. Depending upon your financial situation you might consider professional teeth cleaning for the dogs - again your vet can advise you when and if this is recommended. Some dogs (especially small dog breeds) require more frequent "doggie dentals" than others.
Reply:At that age they have their permanent teeth---but I'm puzzled as to why the fish considering that all fish nowadays comes from polluted waters and is high in mercury -mineral that is very toxic and damaging in healath if too much is taken in. The FDA allows a certain amt and declares its safe for human consumption but do they measure the content in every fish-couldn't possibly so I limit my fish to once a week if that much. The nub is more than likely a piece of the tooth tha came out. Besides even when very yound and they lose baby teeth they do not lose all at once-you neeed to switch now to a quality dog food-for has all a DOG Needs and which are missing in fish like Calcium and other Vit D which makes bones and teeth strong but cna't jus take tha for vitamins an minerals interact and must be all taken together why you find a slew in dogfood.Much research has gone into making dogfood a complete nutritional food for dogs. Do Not get if under Contents it says BYPRODUCTS so get a Petfood store-not grocery or discount like Walmart,K-mart etc AUTHORITY is a excellent dogfood brand . for the dogs that lost their teeth you can now get the small kibbles an mix with room temp water and it will soften where they can eat-also brings the aroma out.On very cold mornings my dog loves his mixed with warm(not hot) water. He is a very healthy good looking lab.huskie mix that I took in as a stray very skinny and scared(was abused) but he has eaten only Authority andeven his treats and doggie bones are Authority. NUTRO is also a good brand. Byproducts are the junk part of the animal with no real meat and I never feed my dog or cat anything that says Byproducts. The only Supplement I give are BREWERS YEAST Pills with Garlic%26amp; Zinc-great for their coat, keeps fleas off(do not like the taste) and very healthy as it also is for humans.Since they are used to fish may have to intoduce new food gradually begin by mixing fish and new food together and gradually decrease the fish until only dogfood. Good Luck. Please do get dogfood for if now affecting loss of teeth bone loss is not far from occurring and then you have serious problem. Just fish has given them severe nutritional deficiencies but like with my dog once given a good guality food on a regula basis reversed and brough back health unfortunately teeth gone will not come back but by softening food they'll be Ok.Good Luck

Does it hurt? Broken teeth at the gum line.?

I hate going to dentist. I have had a number of visits where the novacaine has wore off and I could feel the pain. The last one was during a root canal while the files where in the canals and the Dentist was treating another patient. OUCH!!

Anyways, I had 2 teeth that had root canals, I did not get the crowns. The temp fillings fell out and the teeth cracked. I lost both teeth, a half a tooth at a time. I fear that there is still partial tooth under the gums and will require an excavation. They do not hurt now, but would like to smile again without the embarrasement.

Does this hurt? Including the possible implant/bridge.

Does it hurt? Broken teeth at the gum line.?
Look for a dentist that offers anasthesia...some are now putting patients to sleep while doing dental work
Reply:yes for some, no for others
Reply:Yes for some people it hurts a lot for some other people they can take the pain.
Reply:yup
Reply:i would think so better see a dentist soon
Reply:sounds like you is in for a bad day dude
Reply:aww....doesn't soound fun but if you get a good dentist you should not feel anything during the prosedure except for a small pin prick with the novicane and afterwards only minor pain.....something that tylenol will help with.....good luck!
Reply:Without crown root canal treatment is incomplete..teeth becomes brittle n breaks..yes i m sure ur root piece must be in gums..yes u shud get extracted if it cannot be build or save by post and core..

extraction is not painful as anesthetia is give so it will be numb and implant is expensive treatment and bridge is cheaper..depends on budget and age...implant requires minor surgery while brigde requires slight grinding of front and back tooth of missing tooth...

dental treatment is best decided after checkin patients clinically or examining themmbut wht i understand from ur question i have explained u
Reply:What really hurts is that you are even considering not having the work done. Get off your high horse and go to the dentist. Before you have any work tell the dentist what your experience has been in the past. Dentist do forget you know they can not remember every patient that comes to them. So remind him or her about your experience. Pain is a good thing, with out it how would we know if there is anything wrong. Buck up buddy!
Reply:those root canal teeth themselves won't hurt you because the nerves in them are dead however, they could get infected and yes, that will hurt you. the best plan is to let your dentist extract them before pain starts. allow them to heal and then make a plan on how to replace them so you can smile again.
Reply:Does your dentist even know how fast the pain killer or freezing wears off?Mine always gives me extra cause before he's done the freezing is wearing off.I'd rather stay frozen for more than 2hrs than not frozen for an hour.
Reply:get a good dentist ......first and get him to cap and bridge you teeth

Lion's Teeth Number?

My son is doing a report on lions, but we haven't been able to find the answers about lions teeth. How many teeth do lions have, and do they lose their teeth continually, or do they have permanit teeth like humans?

Lion's Teeth Number?
check the university of michigan's animal diversity website. they have pictures of most mammalian skeletons/skulls and fact sheets on most animals, lions should be readily available
Reply:From what I remember a lion has up to 30 teeth. I think. But I'm not so sure about the second question.
Reply:Lions have up to 30 teeth. I looked and looked and could not find out anything about the teeth falling out continually(like sharks) I would assume they have milk teeth which they lose as they get older and then grow their adult sets.

Loss of teeth in dogs?

My dog (well, puppy) is 4 months old, she'll be 5 months in May, she doesn't have any teeth in the bottom row (in the front), and her two front teeth is missing -- the problem is, is that she HAD all of her teeth before. She isn't yelping, nor does she cry while eating or anything like that, she seems like a normal growing puppy. Is this normal? Is this a stage that puppies go through like small children? They lose their teeth and grow in a new set? HELP?!?!

Loss of teeth in dogs?
Don't worry, this is perfectly normal- just like small children as you've said. At this age she is just losing her deciduous (baby) teeth. They start by losing the incisors (the front teeth) as your girl has around the 4 months of age mark. The new adult ones will grow in very quickly.

As a general guide, the adult incisors erupt at 3-5 months, the canines at 5-7 months, the premolars (just behind the canines) at 4-6 months and the molars at 4-7 months. This varies between breeds and between individuals.

Only thing to watch out for is any reluctance to eat or chew, as the loose puppy teeth do leave small temporary wounds when they fall out which can occasionally become infected.
Reply:yes dogs lose their puppy teethand new ones grow back. however, this does seem quite young ,, what breed?
Reply:Dont worry this is normal as her puppy teeth are falling out to make way for her adult teeth to come in get her a few raw hide chew sticks to teethe on (this will hopefully save you a few pair of shoes..lol).
Reply:This is normal, puppy incisors and canine teeth especially seem to fall out several baby teeth at a time. The one thing you should watch for is an adult tooth that has come through the gum BUT THE BABY TOOTH IN THE SAME PLACE HASNT FALLEN OUT YET. This is most commonly seen with the canine (fang) teeth. The puppy tooth in such cases, needs to be pulled (usually the tooth can be wiggled out or even pulled out with a forceps or pliers, or if you're worried about doing it yourself, let the vet do it)

Everyone loses their teeth at different times.

I lost my last tooth when i was 12 years old.

My dad lost his very last tooth (call me crazy) when he was between his 20s and 30s.

You deffinately don't have anything to worry about. She will be fine.
Reply:As many as her gums want out.
Reply:Every child is different in their patterns, no one is the same. there is no right or wrong, just make sure she takes good care of her adult teeth.

Cat's mouth bleeding and loosing teeth (maybe infection?)?

My cat has recently lost one of the small teeth on his lower jaw between his fangs. It was a bit red afterwards. In the last few days, my cat had this black stuff on his gum at the base of a few teeth near where tooth fell out. The black stuff has now gone but it seems like he has lost another tooth, maybe two.

I'm eager to avoid paying vet fees, so I'm wondering what it could be and whether it can be stopped without going to the vet if at all possible.

Thanks.

Cat's mouth bleeding and loosing teeth (maybe infection?)?
It sounds like your cat needs a dental. You have to see the vet for that.

You need to get your cat to a vet ASAP. Pick up the phone and call now, not later. When you took in that cat you made a committment to it, and along with that commitment means taking him to the vet when he is sick. He is very sick now. Thank you for reminding my that I need to make a dental for my cat so she doesn't develope dental disease this bad. Cats should have them done every 3 year or as needed.
Reply:Don't wait, don't argue about fees. Your cat need the professional help of a vet immediately.

Do you love the cat or don't you?
Reply:Please go to the vet, cats are known to have lots of mouth/teeth problems specially when they get older. This is very painful for the cat and can eventually kill it. Probably just a course of antibiotics will fix it right up but if you ignore it it can lead to other more serious problems
Reply:You really need to get that kitty attended to. That's a lot of pain to put your pet through to save money. Most vets will work out a payment plan if you're short of cash right now. He probably needs some extractions and antibiotics as well as a cleaning. Plus all that nasty bacteria can affect his overall health by stressing his heart and kidneys and liver. Get him seen as soon as possible.
Reply:It is common that cat's (especially older ones) need professional teeth cleanings done at the vet. Yes, it is expensive, since they have to be put under to do it. But it is just the cost of being a responsible pet owner.

Many of the teeth may be coated with infective tartar deposits, above and below the gumline. Some of the teeth may need to be removed and a course of antibiotics given. If untreated this painful gum disease condition will likely lead to diabetes, kidney disease and generally shorten the life of your cat. You vet will need to test your cats liver and kidney function prior to putting them under, and hopefully there has not allready been damage.

Once it is treated if your cat has enough teeth left, you will probably find that feeding dry crunchy food will keep the teeth cleaner. However if a lot of teeth are lost, then you may have no choice but to feed canned food. These professional cleanings may need to be done yearly?

This is all the same reason that people need to take care of their own teeth and gums to prevent their own systemic diseases.
Reply:Sorry, but your cat needs to see the vet. If you have trouble with vet fees, you shouldn't have a pet. Cats develop problems just like people and need to see the doctor regularly or whenever the need is there - and - the need is there. How long has this been going on? He may have an infection. I would get him help before things progress too far. Please take care of him, that's what you're there for.
Reply:immediately take the cat to the vet it may be something harmful.

Does loss of teeth affect how I speak?

I lost two teeth a year ago as a result of periodontal disease and my reluctance to see the dentist. Initially i did not notice I have speaking problems, then as i began to frequently stutter, i was reminded of the fact that i lost two teeth. But the strange thing is every time when i wake up in the morning, i can talk perfectly fine (without self-consciousness maybe?) And there is always a week or two in a month when I can talk fluently. I usually get pretty nervous when i talk to people. I am just not sure if my speaking problem is caused by my fear or loss of teeth. I am a college student and that means i need to talk a lot. That's why i am asking for some advices.

Does loss of teeth affect how I speak?
I don't think it would cause stuttering.

It would only affect pronunciation of the word.

I think it is a psychological problem.

Good Luck,

Ü
Reply:Only if you lose your front teeth- problem with the S and Z
Reply:Not only that, but it makes you look old and crack-head like.
Reply:It's normal to stutter a little bit, but if you think you're doing it too much, talk to the college's doctors. Also, loss of teeth can affect speech, but not stuttering. If you're still worried about this, try seeing into fake frontal teeth. It might boost your confidence.
Reply:Yes, it does. Think about this: when you make different sounds with your mouth, such as "th" noises... like "mouth." When you say "mouth," the tip of your tongue touches your lower teeth. If you didn't have these lower teeth you might have more trouble making that sounds, as well as others, such as "s." You may sound a bit garbled.

(my back teeth)

and don't listen to people when they bring up drugs

because it looks like you lost them from doing meth.

i would hate it when people say that because

HELLO! you could lose your teeeth from many other ways.

i lost my teeth because my enamel was very thin

and my teeth would always crack on me =(

(worst pain ever!)

and the only thing that i've noticed is that

i'm producing more saliva

so because of the saliva i sometimes tend to sound like i have something in my mouth (tons of saliva)

so i went to the dentist to see if maybe there was something wrong with my glads and nope! nothing wrong!

i just have to learn to deal with it.

this november will be a year since i've gotten them removed and i don't even notice the saliva anymore. i try not to think about. just when you notice it ignore it as best you can. hope everything works out! =)

My nephew lost 16 teeth so far and I heard he is supposed to lose 20. Is the second last tooth in the back primary?

Hi, I'm a dentist.

Yes, that's his primary second molar. The primary second molars will probably be some of the last teeth he'll lose, those and the baby canines.

I hope that helps.

Please help with this dream interpretation. Tooth/teeth fell off?

Sometimes in my dream I would lose a tooth or two. In the dream, I felt no pain when I lost the tooth or a couple of teeth. I normally didn't see blood associated with my mouth or teeth. Is there any meaning to that? Thanks.

Please help with this dream interpretation. Tooth/teeth fell off?
Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.
Reply:I dream about losing teeth all the time. It' just represents a fear of losing ANYTHING, not necessarily teeth.
Reply:I think I heard/read before that it means insecurity. I hate those dreams because I always think my teeth are gone when I wake up.
Reply:I used to own a dream book and remember this question being in it also...

It meant someone close to you was going to pass away... It might not be true but that's what it said...
Reply:You probably don't remember, but was it a baby tooth falling out? If so, it might mean that you're letting go of things that were once important to you, but don't hold that much meaning or importance anymore.

Kitten teeth?

How many teeth to kittens have?

When do they lose their teeth?

Is it possible to find all their teeth when they do lose them?

Kitten teeth?
Most often they will just swallow the teeth when they eat, but it you are interested in finding them, look around the food bowl. I found a few of mine youngest cat's teeth that way. When she was loosing teeth, I would also check her mouth, and I gently "pulled" a few of them that were just about to fall out on their own, just to be sure she did not choke on them by accident.

I am not sure about the number of baby teeth they loose, but I think they will start loosing them about 4-6 months and be well done before they are a year old. Different cats mature at different rates though so this is my guess only. Moggies or non-breed cats often develop the fastest, while breeds like Maine Coons and Persians take longer to become full grown.
Reply:Kittens should lose all of their baby teeth by 6 mos. They usually swallow them.

2 Baby teeth pulled; 2 adult teeth on the way... how long until they grow in though?

Alright... I got 2 baby teeth near the front pulled out because I'm getting braces soon and 2 adult teeth were above the baby teeth in my gums, waiting to come out...

But my question is, since I know they're going to grow in anyways, about how long does it take for adult teeth to grow in after you've lost baby teeth?

2 Baby teeth pulled; 2 adult teeth on the way... how long until they grow in though?
well the tooth coming the the gum is called eruption. this may varies (differ) most peoples teeth *** through (Adult) 1 to 2 to 3 months don't worry it won't be that long LOL i hope i helped ! Cee* Bee*
Reply:it shouldnt take long at all last year i had ten baby teeth pulled, and like maybe less to a month to a month later they were coming up!

mine took about 6 months just to feel something small and sharp coming up.

Crooked baby teeth is this unusual?

My son is 14 months old and has the top 2 teeth and 3 bottom teeth . The top 2 teeth are straight with a fairly big gap between and the bottom 2 teeth are crooked. He has never had a dummy and doesn't suck his thumb. He only has 1 bottle a day in the evening so hes not sucking on the bottle either. None of our family have crooked or gappy teeth. I am concerned even though he will lose these teeth that this is possibility of things to come is this true?

Crooked baby teeth is this unusual?
It's REALLY good to have a gap between your top two teeth. It is because when more teeth come in the teeth will move together and makes more space for the other teeth. It's not unsual to have crooked bottom teeth. Mine were when I was little and now they are strait. Most little kids' bottom teeth are crooked.
Reply:No, it doesn't matter one bit. They will fall out, and grow back, maybe even straiter. If not, theres always braces.....theres nothing you can do.
Reply:My son's two bottom front teeth make a V, it is very noticeable, it is possible they will turn more once his incisors are in (they are coming in now, he is also 14 months).

He also only sucked his thumb from 2 months to 6 months and is breastfed which is supposed to help prevent teeth malpositioning and help with proper jaw alignment.

Many moms of my mom's generation say their kids had crocked baby teeth and they had normal adult teeth.
Reply:wait till he gets more teeth.sometimes they straighten themselves out.if they dont, dont freak in a few years, he'll get new ones. then theres always braces.
Reply:It is normal.
Reply:My daughter was born with her two bottom teeth and they have always been crooked. The dentist says that it's normal for the bottom two teeth to be crooked so I'm not worried. Either way when he's older they will fall out.
Reply:Completely normal, my daughter was the same way until more teeth started coming in now they are beautiful!

6 teeth in 3 months?

My son has lost 6 teeth in the last few months, 2 of them this week alone!!! Is this normal? I see where one that came out a week or so ago is already having an adult tooth come in, but right now, he only has 2 of his 8 front teeth completely there. Those 2 are permanent teeth. Another permanent tooth is about half way in. He eats a fairly balanced diet when he's not being mr. picky. He gets loads of vitamins C though, he loves oranges and gets juice and a multivitamin everyday. I can't think of what could be wrong, if anything. Can someone please help to ease my mind, or let me know what to do?

6 teeth in 3 months?
I lost all of my teeth in two years when I was 8-10. I wouldn't worry, because I remember losing 3 in one week and all my permanent teeth came in fine.
Reply:My son lost 2 teeth in one day..and one tooth following it every day for 3 days...boy was the "tooth fairy unhappy" I had actually asked the dentist if this was normal..and for many kids it is...the adult teeth all move into place at the same time, so they loose a lot of teeth all a sudden...my son eats healthy and well balanced it doesn't have to do with diet..it's just the way he is...not all of my sons baby teeth are out yet..only about half, and he hasn't lost a tooth in months..

Okay, i know puppies lose baby teeth. My pup is 5months old and she just lost her first. But i was wondering how many teeth they lose and which ones? Does anyone know?

Puppy teeth?
Just like people, they lose all of them. Puppies start teething at about 3 months and finish between 7 - 8 months.
Reply:They loose all of them. Usually the smaller up front ones first and then the bigger ones.
Reply:Just like humans, they lose all 'milk teeth' and get adult teeth in. Puppies have 28 baby teeth and when they're grown... 48 adult teeth.
Reply:all of them,.... and usually they have all their adult teeth by the time they are 8 months of age.
Reply:The front ones! takes a while don't worry!
Reply:i'm not very sure but if your very curiuos you should ask the vet
Reply:they loose them all

you dont realize because they usually swallow them and they grow back in quick
Reply:ask ur vet.
Reply:She will loose all just like everyone says but just make sure that she has the proper toys to chew on to help with the process.
Reply:Puppies will loose all of their milk teeth as they grow, but unless you are looking in their mouth you may not notice as the teeth tend to get swallowed, eaten or lost outside.

The tooth fairy does not have an easy job when it comes to curious, chewing and teething pups!
Reply:ah ha my pup has just got over all that..... our pups may be different breeds so i may not give the correct answer but my staffy pup lost his canine teeth at the front and i think the one's behind that but i onli ever found 2 of his teeth but saw when he had gaps lol

hope i helped!?
Reply:They'll lose/replace a few at a time, until all are replaced. If the teeth becomes too crowded, you'll have to have some pulled.
Reply:I dont know if its the same for all dogs but mine only lost two of his back ones. But maybe i just never found the others...
Reply:Your puppie will lose all her teeth except the ones in the back

have a good day!!!! (-:

Very sensitive teeth....?

For the last few months my teeth have been very sensitive to hot and cold. Recently my teeth have even been hurting when I eat anything sweet and when I brush my teeth. Two days ago I noticed that in one of my teeth near the gums there is a hole starting. What could have caused this... I brush my teeth every day and take good care of my mouth. If I go to the dentist is there something that they can do with the hole so that I dont lose that tooth? Is there something I can do to help the sensitivity of my teeth?

Very sensitive teeth....?
There are many things you can do about sensitive teeth. However I believe that your situation has progressed an you need immediate dental care. A hole could be a cavity or recession of your gums. If the hole is at the gum line or it appears that your gum has a bubble near this can be a sign of an abscessed tooth. Cold sensitivity can be normal, sensitivity to hot is not. Tooth Decay could also be a possibility.

Tips for sensitive teeth:

+Use Sensodyne toothpaste

-this toothpaste has a high fluoride concentration and will greatly reduce sensitivity

+Your dentist can give you a product called Flor-Opal which can be worn in trays this also can help with sensitivity.

+Remember to floss this is just as important as brushing.

+Have your teeth professionally cleaned twice a year.

I recommend that you go see a dentist for a consult. It is better to catch a problem sooner rather than later.
Reply:Some people's teeth are just very sensitive, it's as simple as that. You may want to cut back on the sweets and pop, because it sounds to me like you have thin enamal. Your dentist will be able to fix the tooth so long as the decay hasn't gotten all the way to the root yet. There is also toothpaste for sensitive people, crest makes one, and sensodyne is the other one, both can be found at your local drug store.
Reply:Try using sensitive teeth toothpaste - like Sensodyne.

SHIFTED TEETH?!? please help?

okay so heres the deal. when i was little about 5 yrs old. i had a tumor that went from the left side of my head down the the top left of my jaw. they removed it but they also had to take out some cheek bone along with like 5/6 teeth. As i grew older i noticed my teeth shifted. Ive always been VERY self concious about thisand its so hard to smile. and i love laughing to its a double wamee. I did get braces but only to fix the crowdeness on my bottom teeth. My mother and orhthodonotist agreed not to fix my "shifting " problem so i wouldnt lose more teeth. but now as im getting older its increasingly become a MAJOR deal and im SOOO self concious about it.

so i was wondering would i be possible to take out a tooth from one side of my mouth and have them move my teeth over. However i dont want to get braces again.. is it a lengthy and difficult procedure?

spankkkkkkkkssssssssss

SHIFTED TEETH?!? please help?
Your situation sounds complicated and could probably use a few more details. When teeth are removed, either spacers or something must take there place or drifting occurs. They tend to drift toward the front of your mouth - but movement is occurring and that is not good. I would check to see what your options are.
Reply:This is something only a medical professional can answer. I suggest you consult a qualified dental surgeon.
Reply:the only way to move your teeth is braces. unless you go through it again your teeth will continue to shift your entire life. anytime a tooth is pulled and an empty space is left in the mouth, teeth will begin to shift around. I would go back to an orthodontist and discuss your options.

Question about my 7yr old son's front teeth?

when my son was 2yrs old, he fell and hit one of his front teeth on concrete. I took him to the dentist and he said that he "killed" the tooth, would turn black and fall out. The adult tooth would come in just fine. Well, he never lost the tooth and it didn't turn black it just turned a yellowish color. He is now 7yrs old and he lost that tooth and about 3 weeks later he lost his other front tooth. The one that he lost second (the good one) has already started to come through, it's about half way. The other one has not started, can't see where it is even breaking the gums yet. It looks like the gums are starting to heal. I'm worried that there may not be a tooth at all. Any ideas??? just in case you tell me to go to a dentist, i have an appointment scheduled march 17th.

Question about my 7yr old son's front teeth?
Not all teeth will come in at the same time.Usually with front teeth one will come in faster than the other one.
Reply:The dentist can take an x-ray and show you the tooth buds. don't worry I'm sure his teeth with be fine.
Reply:It would be extremely rare for a central incisor not to form. I've never seen it happen.

Teeth do not always come out simultaneously, and that is all I think is happening in your situation. It is too early to be concerned about other possibilities.

For example, sometimes an extra tooth forms between the central incisors (called a mesiodens) and can obstruct the incisors from erupting. An Xray would show you what's happening.

In another example, sometimes the gum heals up too fast and hard over an erupting incisor, and stops it coming thru. A simple incision into the gum to break the skin will fix it.

I would wait 3 months before looking at these possibilities.
Reply:Definately dont miss that appointment . Some teeth are definately slower than others but since your son has had trauma in that area I would definately let a dentist check to see if it was still moving into position .Are you seeing the same dentist as before because he could compare the x-ray from before with a current x-ray to make sure the tooth has completely formed and is in position to come through .Even though it has been a long time since the fall if you are not seeing that dentist I would call and ask if I could get an x-ray copy forwarded to the doc you are seeing so he will see first hand what it looked like before . I also have a seven year old little boy . I hope all is fine and his tooth is just slow to come in .My sons two upper front teeth seemed to take forever to come in but the other teeth have come in very soon after they were lost .

Will i ever loose my baby teeth?

all my friends have lost their teeth and i still have all but two of my molers and both sets of canines. is it posible i will never loose them or could my mouth be to small. i have two teeth on the top that heven't grown in all the way and i lost them about a year and a half ago. the last time i lost a tooth was a year ago and it was a moler. my teeth are uneven and the top canines heve started to grow out wards towards the front. could some thing be wrong? my sister is 12 and has lost more teeth than me. i am 14.

Will i ever loose my baby teeth?
Yes you will! because usually if they don't go you requrie braces because your teeth will be over crowded.Everyones teeth are diffrent. If your not sure ring a dentist.
Reply:You should see a dentist. I dont know if there is anything wrong. maybe think of getting them pulled?
Reply:I LOST MY LAST TWO BABY TEETH AT 15. SO I JUST SAY EVERYONE IS NOT THE SAME. THAT IS SOMETHING YOU MUST KEEP IN MINED
Reply:I would get it checked out by a dentist if you're worried about it.

I made the mistake of not getting mine checked out and my baby canine tooth wouldn't budge to fall out. Which resulted in the adult canine tooth to be lodged inside my gum below my nose. Now it's sideways and can't be pulled out unless I undergo surgery.

So go see a dentist if you're concerned about that. They can take x-rays to see if there are other teeth trying to grow out, etc.

Good luck!
Reply:You should see a dentist... the same thing happened to me... my roots were too strong so i had to have my teeth pulled... I could have had two rows of teeth!

Question about teeth?

I had a root canal done today on my upper front. The dentist told me there was not much tooth to work with and called it a shell of a tooth. I am starting to think that I will soon lose this tooth and it has me scared. I have all of my teeth, inlcuding my wisdom teeth. If I did lose this tooth, how much would it cost me to get a replacement tooth? How long will a root canal last if there wasn't much tooth to work with? Can the root canal still last a long time?

Question about teeth?
Hi Renne,

I'm a dentist in Ireland,my name is Paul.

Feel free to email me here if you have more questions.

Briefly, a root canal is performed when there is advanced decay/and /or breakdown of tooth and a simple filling is insufficient.

A root canal lasts forever. What it is: in a very broken/decayde tooth, decay often spreads into the root.A simple filling is not enough so we drill out the tooth And nerve to remove all decay. The nerve in the tooth pulp is removed ,effectively leaving the tooth "dead".

You now have a 'shell' of a tooth as it is not vital (alive),its hollowed out and filled.

The root is sealed off.Thats your root canal in plain language.

How much tooth was left is indifferent to a root canal.

Now a permanent crown is needed for the remaining tooth.

Not only because its broken but because root treated teeth turn dark in colour.

A veneer is Not possible for a badly broken tooth as someone mentioned.

While the lab is making your permanent crown you have a temporary one fitted. The temporary doesnt look as good or feel as good, its there to fill a gap.

Your permanent crown will be made of porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal for extra strength. It will be made to exact specifications from the impressions your dentist took.

When there is very little tooth to work with we do whats called a post crown.

Think of it like this, a crown is cemented on to the prepared tooth stump. If theres not enough to tooth to create a stump ,we need to put in a tiny metal post for support. The end result is the same.

I do these procedures everydy.Today I had one done myself by my colleague and I am pleased to be saving a tooth rather than an extraction, however even with extractions you have choices..bridges,implants etc.

Your tooth will look fine, better than the broken down one.The hard work and drilling is now done, next day it'll be simply attaching permanent crown.

Paul
Reply:root canal is final.there is no more root so the tooth is....well...its dead.

for a replacement...hmm....a veneer is about 1200.
Reply:You are going to need a cap over the tooth that had the root canal. They can cost $1500 or more. You need to ask your dentist if you can go on a payment plan. Or, if you live near a dental school then go there and see if they can help you out. Many times they will work on people's teeth for much less because the students need the practice and you will get good care because the professors are right there watching.
Reply:i am really sorry i cant help you with that question but i am getting braces if that helps and dont worry about it its ok to not have 1 teeeth one of my friends lost like 2 teeths i am still thier friend nothing will ever break us apart no matter what happpens to us its a girl she is my bestes frined in the world
Reply:if the root is there then they can do a post, core and a crown. you won't lose the tooth unless it cracks because you didn't get the crown ASAP.

if it's your very front tooth you will have to be very careful when biting into things.

however i've seen those last for years and years. dentists do this type of proceedore every single day.

don't worry about it unless it happens.
Reply:A root canal treatment does not remove the root, it removes the pulp canals that are IN the root, leaving the root intact. You may need to have a post %26amp; core and then a crown placed on the tooth after the treatment is completed and the tooth has 'healed'..... and root canals last a lifetime, usually.

Fee for a post %26amp; core, and a crown (in my office): $1071, minus 10% if you don't have dental insurance.

~hope this helped.

:)

Edited after your additional comment: If the temporary crown comes off, it's no big deal...just have it recemented back on. Your permanent crown should fit more secure, and a permanent cement will be used....your entire tooth, root and all, will not come out.
Reply:ive had a root canal with about ur same problem as a temp. cap with my reall tooth for abotu 1 year now so if ur getting it caped in 3 weeks it should be just fine
Reply:I am going to try to help you understand what is going on with your tooth. First of all ..it is highly unlikely that the dentist would have performed a rct(root canal) if he thought your tooth was going to fall out. A far as the shell..he or she means..there is not much tooth structure left and the tooth will need to be built up and prepped for a crown(cap) They probably discussed this with you. I would not worry about losing your tooth. What I would be concerned about is not letting this happen to any more teeth. Yes..your tooth should not have any more problems after you have the tooth built up and crowned..unless you further neglect your teeth and NEW decay forms under your new crown. Good luck to you.

go to a special kind of dental office that will knock you out before they work on you. if you do not take care of your mouth it can lead to serious health problems later in life.
Reply:teener, tewener, it;ll come loose by itself wen your eating and mouth filled with blood,.

Do all animals grow a set of milk teeth, lose them, and grow adult teeth?

Or is it just humans?

Do all animals grow a set of milk teeth, lose them, and grow adult teeth?
Not nearly all animals do this, but all mammals do have two sets of teeth. The first set has no molars, and they are called milk or deciduous teeth.

Lots of animals don't have teeth at all of course...

Generally, reptiles and fish lose their teeth all the time, replacing them as they are lost..Sometimes there is a pattern to this -- for example, I have a jaw I took from a dead pike I found (big predatory fish) which has one socket in the jaw with a good tooth, a small new one growing in the next socket, and the next socket with the tooth broken or missing. This continues along the jaw, so there is a good tooth in every third socket. The fish was about a metre long, and the teeth are about 3 cm long, with sharp edges down each side. You'd not want to be bitten by it...

Some mammals have two sets, but don't use the whole set at one time. Elephants do this -- they have lots of molars, but only use two or so in each jaw at a time. As each tooth wears out the next moves up -- but when they've used the last one they have to stick to soft food such as fruit.

Occasionally a similar thing happens in humans. If the mouth is crowded, sometimes one tooth gets buried beneath another and never develops fully. If the upper tooth is lost in later life, the buried one sometimes "wakes up" and grows, giving an adult (or even elderly) person a nice new tooth.
Reply:dogs grow milk teeth too.
Reply:Most mammals have milk teeth
Reply:only mammals..(which includes human beings)
Reply:only mammals ;)
Reply:most animals have a first set then permanent one.I wouldn't say only mammals coz crocs have a similar characteristic

Does braces make your teeth lose?

When the braces are in, the gums may be soft and there is bone loss and gain going on in the jaw, so the teeth may be slightly prone to movement, hence wearing a retainer after the brace comes off to let the supporting structures form fully holding the teeth in place.

Does braces make your teeth lose?
No they dont
Reply:no.

they just make your teeth straight.
Reply:nope :)
Reply:no, they tighten them together
Reply:Nope, I never heard of such a thing. They fix your teeth (straighten them is what I mean).
Reply:Before you get braces, you may have to get extractions. I don't think you should lose any while wearing them.

Can u keep gingivitis or periodontal disease under control or are u pretty much doomed to lose ur teeth?

i dont have any pockets or anything i think i just have gingivitis my gums bleed when i brush them( just around my bottom teeth) but my gums seem to have receded a bit, im not sure tho..but is there any hope for me to keep my teeth as i just had dental implants and bone grafting to my upper jaw..

Can u keep gingivitis or periodontal disease under control or are u pretty much doomed to lose ur teeth?
Gingivitis is an inflammation or infection of the gums which can be healed. It is caused by build up, soft sticky plaque which then turns into hard tartar (also called calculus). Daily brushing 2-3 times daily for 2 minutes with a soft toothbrush, flossing and a rinse can help keep the gingivitis from occuring. However, you do need regular dental cleanings as you can remove the plaque but once the tartar has hardened you cannot remove it and it will be a constant source of trouble until it is removed. If gingivitis is present it will eventually progress and turn into periodontal disease which is a bone disease that causes you to lose the supporting bone around your teeth. This is what causes tooth loss in the more advanced stages. If you are seeing your dental professional on a regular basis and doing all you can with homecare there is really no reason for anyone to expect to lose their teeth in their lifetime. Your recession may have been caused by brushing too hard, using a brush that is too hard, having braces at one point, or the way that the tooth is positioned in your mouth and may have no connection to the gingivitis. If you were sure you had periodontal disease then I might say they are related, but it doesn't sound like it.

Good luck and take good care of your implants!

Reply:yes. there are treatments ask your dentist.
Reply:if your gum bleed when you brush it is gingivitis and you should see your dentist and get it under control. If left untreated you can lose your teeth.
Reply:You just spent a ton of cash on your mouth....go to the dentist...they can definately help you. Follow their treatment faithfully. Don't waste any time...go soon!

Peace be with you!
Reply:There are prescription mouthwash and toothepastes u can get from your hygienist. If u can u should try flossing more but not too hard lol.
Reply:The problem that you're having is that you think you can control gingivitis just by brushing. It's not how many times you brush...it's how you brush. If you brush softly with a soft bristle tooth-brush in a circular motion towards the gum line you should be on the right track at least. Now, a reason that your gums could be receeding is that you do not brush that way. You have a medium or hard bristle tooth-brush and your technique is off. When you brush back and forth you irritate your gums and thus causing it to receed. There is nothing that can be done about your gums receeding but you can start brushing right. You can buy an Oral B tooth-brush (the electronic ones) and just glide it from tooth to tooth and not worry about having to do circles cause it already turns. Try that out. As far as gingivitis...floss more. It can also be a hormonal imbalance. I get patients all the time with good teeth but has gingivitis cause they're pregnant or whatever the case may be. So it's all up to you. Brush and floss only the teeth you want to keep... :) Service with a smile
Reply:When a patient has a diagnosis of periodontal disease There's a specialist Dentist called "Periodontists" that's the best options for a treatment.
