Does loss of teeth affect the way we speak? I lost two back teeth and struggle with normal conversations.?

I lost two back teeth two years ago and since then I have had trouble talking. I also get nervous when i talk because of some words which I have trouble enunciating. Is my nervousness more of a factor that gives me speech difficulty or the loss of teeth. I don't really think loss of two teeth can have a big impact.

Ok, the missing back two teeth are very unlikely to be what's causing your speech issues. There are a number of other things that could be responsible. You should begin your search by getting a full physical exam. Let me ask you this, do people make you nervous? Do you have a lot of friends? Have you ever had tremors in your hands? The complete physical is the first thing you do. You may find that some speech therapy is needed, but get that physical so that you know exactly where you stand health wise. There are of course possible unrealized existing health issues, be smart and find out "now". good luck and I wish you well.
Reply:usually it does have a big impact. it lets ur gums touch more often

Reply:It Might Affect You For A while... But Within 1 month TOPS... You Will be fine!

When I was 12, i had gotten 6 baby teeth pulled. i couldn't speak Properly for about 3 days.

This happens because when you talk... your tongue will hit, or press against your teeth to make different sounds. When those teeth aren't there... The tongue cannot press against them. So... That will result Of Speech Differences.

No Biggie! =]
