How To Save My Teeth?

Well, I had braces, then lost the retainers... now, the wisom teeth, all 4 ,have grown in, and they are pushing all of my teeth together....., esp, the lower front ones, so crowed, that, it is hard to proprly care for them, so, they have plaque discoloration, ect., I don't want to lose any teeth, so, I am going to go all out.... get the wisdom teeth pulled, go to the dentist for cleaning, and of course, spend A LOT of time caring for my teeth at home, esp, the ones I am afraid of losing/ruining, what do you think? Any suggestions?

better late than never :D

How To Save My Teeth?
Just my two cents worth here... assuming you are in your 20's, you are of an age where it is normal to have to deal with the fact of your wisdom teeth. You will be much better off dealing with this now in terms of healing, than when you are older. If you smoke, don't for at least 2 days before and after the wisdon tooth surgery, or you will be prone to a very painfull "dry socket" infection.

If is makes you feel any better... your wisdom teeth are not making your front teeth crooked. That is an "old dental wife's tale". That would have happened anyways cause you stopped wearing your retainers!

You need a good professional cleaning and good flossing habits. Then see your orthodontist about your options in moving the teeth back into position. When finished, then wear the new retainer "forever".

If it has been a while in general since you have had dental care... you must make sure your mouth is free of decay or gum disease before you do anything.
Reply:I know that is a very hurtful feeling. Emotionally, I mean. Get the teeth pulled and if possible, see if your old orthodontist can make you a new retainer. If they have your old teeth imprints, then it shouldn't be a problem, especially if you are willing to pay.
Reply:DONT BE BRITISH!!!!!!
Reply:the dentist know better..have them pulled if it calls for it..then don't forget the usual stuffs..brushing, flossing, using mouthwash..and regular visits to your dentist..
