When dogs lose their teeth is it normal for some bleeding to occur?

yes...its tooth is gone of course its gonna bleed some.

When dogs lose their teeth is it normal for some bleeding to occur?
Yes, as long as it is not excessive. And the only reason a dog should loose teeth is if it is a puppy losing it's puppy teeth. If your dog is an adult and loosing teeth I would talk to your veterinarian.

You said she was 5 months, so yes, this is very normal.
Reply:yes. its normal for a dog to bleed when it loses its teeth. dogs are the same as humans in some things. it will grow back if its a puppy
Reply:Yeah, but not a huge amount. When we lose our teeth they bleed. If its a puppy its normal, but an adult dog isn't normal.
Reply:of course as long as it isnt alot.
Reply:I assume that you are talking about your puppy...but yes it is normal for a little bleeding to occur. It's just like when you were a kid and you lost a tooth, it's connected to tissue and will bleed. However, if it is bleeding and will not stop you do need to contact your vet.
Reply:Hi there,

Well depending on how the tooth got broken I would say yes.

Just as in humans if you lose an adult tooth through a mishap or trauma the gums would bleed. If the blood does not stop flowing I would be wondering if the blood is coagulating properly.

Now if this is a puppy that is getting it`s adult teeth the bleeding is not normal. If it persists and happens every time the pup loses one of it`s puppy teeth. then I would take it to the vet for a check up.
