I have talked to a couple of moms by me, I guess the going rate now is $5 a tooth. I know my cousin gives $10 if the tooth had a filling. It depends on your financial situation. I live in a small town in Michigan, I am guessing the ritzier the neighborhood the more the tooth fairy gives. lol
How much money should be given for losing a tooth?
My mom would give us $5.00 and we would put it in our piggy banks -]
Reply:Are you talking about the tooth fairy or did someone cause you to lose a tooth? If your talking about the tooth fairy, I use to get $1.00 per tooth, but this was back in the 50's, so with inflation and fifty years later, I would probably say $10 to $20 a tooth. Now if you lost a tooth because of someones negligence, sue for what you can get!
Reply:The rule is, approximately 1/1000 of your monthly income.
Reply:It was a while ago, so figure on inflation.
If it was an easy tooth to loose I got 50 cents. If it was a difficult tooth, like a molar, I got a buck and or a cheep toy.
My husband has a pile of dollar coins that he is saving for our daughter's tooth fairy money.
My cousin gives her kids anywere from a dollar to five dollars, depending on the tooth, and the difficulty of its falling out.
Reply:I only stopped losing teeth less than a decade ago... we typically got 50 cents to a dollar. My parents were cheap, but it was enough for us. We didn't have allowances so any money was a lot of money. If they are used to getting money (like an allowance) a dollar won't seem like much. Older you are the more money and the last baby tooth should be the most.
Best Wishes!
Reply:my mother gave me five dollars for the last one...but ussually it was only a dollar or two...guess it was special for the last one:)

Reply:my daughter has a loose tooth and she is asking for 19 dollars lol
