Why do people who have done drugs lose their teeth?

It's certainly not all drugs... I seem to remember from my youth that certain drugs stop you from processing certain vitamins sufficiently well (Vit B12 is one that springs to mind) and in doing so cause various other deficiencies, calcium issues and joint (ironically) issues etc. I think this is mainly amphetamines.





Most "powders" which are the drugs you are talking about, mean that the user is ingesting a load of glucose (not sure if that is a bad thing for teeth or not, but it can't help), they also have their diet suppressed which I am sure has a gastric knock on effect, which will produce a lot of acid in the saliva, as well as the actual effect of much of these kind of drugs is "gurning" and "grinding" of the jaw... none of which is gonna help a great deal. That said, I've had more than my fair share and have a full set of happy healthy teeth, so maybe they just don't brush regularly?

I don't think its with all drugs, I'm not sure bout obviously a lot of drugs are just chemical **** lol so its not going to be good for you...

Reply:I can't imagine that someone who destroys their body with meth has brushing their teeth and flossing as a high priority........
Reply:Perhaps when they take drugs their general health suffers and the acid out of the drugs rots the teeth.

They don't think about looking after their teeth.


If I have a few too many drinks I occassionally go to bed without brushing my teeth so imagine how it is if you do drugs or drink all the time!


Smoking also has a very bad effect on the teeth and gums.
Reply:Morons who buy drugs and then realise they cant pay for them usualy end up losing their teeth !
Reply:i think a lot of heroin addicts are on methadone and it rots teeth my friends son is an addict and was given sugar free methadone for this reason and i also agree drugs of any kind are a mugs game the ruin families and lifes.
